You can use both the XMcosy+ app or the adapter to dim the lights. We recommend users control the lights by smartphone with the XMcosy+ app which is available on App Store or Google Play. Also, the lights can be controlled by pressing the button on the adapter.
We apologize that we do not sell separate extension strings without controllers currently. We appreciate your feedback and are preparing to sell them on Amazon in a few months.
I am sorry that the G40 string lights are not low-voltage. Both its output and input voltage is 110V~120V. We considerately upgrade the G40 bulbs replaceable. The 100 Ft (50 bulbs) model comes with 3 spare bulbs, and the 50 Ft (25 bulbs) comes with 2 spare bulbs. If any of the bulbs are defective, easily replace the defective bulbs with the spare bulbs instead of replacing the whole string.
The distance between each G40 LED bulb is 1.84 feet. The total length is 50 feet and one string comes with 25 G40 LED bulbs which are made of shatterproof plastic.
Make sure the adapter is plugged in and the lights blink after you plug them before moving forward with the sync.
It can be used just with our XMcosy app. If you need voice control, you can also connect the light to Alexa.
I sent a message to the company and they said it was a malfunction in the smart plug extender. They sent me. We new one and I haven’t had any troubles since.
Just measured - 11-1/2” from bulb to plug. That connects to a 2-1/2 ft. extension that includes the smart control.
You can also control them with your blue tooth.
